Hello!

One of my main characters has Stargardt Disease. She was diagnosed when she was thirteen and is now sixteen. I’m doing a lot of research about living with Stargardt and vision loss in general, but there’s one thing I haven’t been able to find:

What would her eyes look like, to an observer?

A lot of pictures of blind people show them with cloudy white eyes, but I don’t know if those people have Stargardt specifically. My character has lost some central vision but still has most peripheral vision.

Thank you for your help!

The eyes of someone with that disease usually look no different, I think. I'm fairly certain it's what one of my coworkers had. Excluding the direct tell of when someone says "I'm blind!", body language is a bigger tell than eye appearance.

Have you seen Two Blind Brothers yet? Bradford and Bryan are fashion designers with that (linked) channel to talk about Stargardt disease.
