I must admit to being curious as to how the family discerned she was gay. Unless there was a conversation where she announced her orientation I couldn't see how it would have happened.

That's the very first time that I've ever heard of the Publish America lady. Until I read the wikipedia article, I thought you were talking about a woman who won the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes. You know -- the Ed McMahon thing.

But this Morales case reminds me of the Kerri Dunn incident. She was a Claremont-McKenna College professor who vandalized her own car and reported it as an anti-Semitic hate crime. Here's a link...

There's a new development in the ongoing saga of discredited restaurant server Dayna Morales: It seems the woman who falsely claimed she received an anti-gay "tip" from two patrons never donated the money she received from supporters to help wounded vets like she promised.

In the immediate aftermath of Morales's anti-gay allegations against a New Jersey couple who dined in her section at the Gallop Asian Bistro, many supporters began showing up at the restaurant with "monetary contributions."
Within a few days, Morales had racked up over $2,000 in donations, but told NJ.com she planned to forward it all to the Wounded Warrior Project.

But an investigation by Bridgewater Patch discovered that, as of today, no donations to the nonprofit have been made in Morales's name, nor were any donations made from any ZIP codes in the Bridgewater area.

I am shocked, SHOCKED I SAY!, that a woman who lied about not receiving a tip and falsified an image to back up her lie has now lied about donating the money.

I hope people who donated through Paypal have looked into the dispute process.
