If you've repeatedly queried with no response, something's amiss. If we read a query, we'll reply on it, whether the answer is yes or no. Particularly with several different assistants screening through the inbox, it's odd your query would have been missed. While we normally say to nudge us after four weeks, perhaps in your case you should consider calling in and having the mail searched referencing the email address you sent the query from.

Thank you so much for weighing in on this thread, Gina!

I've also queried the agency three times (with two different projects) and never received a response--I've used the Querytracker Quick Query option, so I'm wondering if there's an issue with that particular "send" address...

I tried the 'editorial@' address twice and 'gpanettieri@' once. Not sure what "calling in and having the mail searched referencing the email address you sent the query from" means. Thanks.

I think it means they want you to call, tell them your email address and the date you sent the query, and they will confirm receipt.

I wrote them off as "no response = no" months ago. Maybe I should call them too.

Just wanted to say that I signed with Paula Munier at Talcott Notch this past June and she (and Gina) have been fantastic. It takes a long time to find the perfect fit, so just hang in there and keep submitting. Query, nudge, and then move on. I had over 100 queries out, and I would definitely send a nudge when a submission went 90 days past their timeline. Paula and I are submitting to some of the best presses and publishers around, and have gotten REALLY close several times. I know my neo-noir, transgressive thriller Disintegration, will find a good home soon. So, keep at it and good luck. PM me if you have any private questions.

Peace,
Richard Thomas

Got a rejection from Talcott on the partial MS, but I guess it just wasn't a perfect fit! Time for some small revisions in the first chapter and to query more agents!

I will admit I was scared to receive a "mean" rejection, but the rejection I got was very nice and positive, and I think that really helps a writer when trying to query. It at least helps me stay positive! :)

Sorry on the reject! I'm still waiting on a partial...like two weeks so I'm in for a wait!

Positive rejections are the best rejections! Except maybe ones where the agent's having a bad day and really lets your mss have it!

I really like this agency, but got a quick rejection on women's fiction. Wish I knew if it was the query or the sample pages. Oh well--they sound great and I hope others have success in landing representation.

I got a partial request from Rachael Dugas' assistant today. I queried back in July, so this was a nice surprise. Hoping for an upgrade to a full! :)

Full request from conference pitch to Ms. Panettieri on 7/12/12
Sent Full 7/14/12
Followed up around the 3 month mark. No response.
Followed up 1/8/13
Received reply same day, Ms. Panettieri was still reading MS, a bit at a time.
Received email from Ms. Panettieri's Associate Agent, Sara D'Emic, on 1/15/13 that the MS had been passed along to her and she wanted to work with me on it.
Offer of rep from Sara on 1/18/13 after phone discussion re: revisions (which I accepted). :D

Congrats D.Owcxarek!

I nudged Gina about my full, stating I'd revised the MS since sending it to her and I'd like to send the new version if she was still interested. She emailed back the next morning and suggested I forward it to Sara D'Emic because it sounded right up her alley (the original request for the full came from an intern who is no longer with TC). I emailed Sara this morning and attached the revised MS. She emailed back really quickly stating she'd take a look at it. So we'll see what happens!

I'm considering querying this agency, but I'm not sure where the query would be sent. On their site they say the following:
Email queries should be addressed to the specific agent you are interested in considering your work.
I am assuming they are referring to WeBook. Is there a way to directly query them? Should I go off their individual listed emails?

The way the quoted line is phrased makes me assume there is a common query email.

I would check AgentQuery or QueryTracker to see what submission address is listed there for the agent you wish to query. Those sites are generally accurate.

Does anyone know if they are a no from one is a no from all agency? The website says to address a specific agent. I queried Gina Panettieri and received a form rejection from an assistant that seemed to be from the entire agency.

Usually agencies make it clear if they are a No for One is a No for All Agency.

From Talcott Notch's guidelines, it seems that you can submit to all of the agents, just not at the same time, i.e. wait for the rejection before sending off again to another agent.

Sent a query and the first 10 pages to Paula Munier; just received a partial request back from her this morning! Woohoo!
