Hi! I'm Jill and I'm a retired English teacher living in Richmond, Va. I still teach part time-teenagers are great! They give me inspiration for the teen characters I write about in my YA novels (unfortunately, still unpublished). I've been writing since I was a kid and can't seem to stay away from it. I'd love to talk with other writers. Hope to hear from you...

I don't write for teens, but I like teenagers, too. Even the "bad" ones seems to be okay one on one, when you're not challenging them. And some of them write, or think they might like to, and the bad ones are often the ones with something to say even at a tender age.

I imagine it's rather useful that you teach teens while writing YA, both to stay on top of trends as well as to have age-appropriate beta readers.

You mention having written a few YA novels that have thus far gone unpublished. Out of curiosity, are they standalones? Part of a series? What's the genre(s)?
