Eh, I decided to try looking into another style of book. For years I've mainly read fantasy and for some reason the court system has been interesting me lately.

I was wondering if anyone had read any books that they particularly liked concerning court battles and the like. Right now I'm am really interested in custody battles if that shortens the list much. ;)

Any recommendations? ;)

Edit: Anything will work, even if it has nothing to do with custody battle. ^_^ I thought that court-type books was kindof a broad subject, so I added that last part in case someone wanted something a little less broad.

I wish you hadn't said that last bit about custody battles, because this book has little to do with that (in fact, nothing to do with that come to think of it).

"The Trial" by Kafka is quite amazing, regardless. The style is a bit older but amazing all the same. A bit depressing.

Look through Grisham's books. All of his are about lawyers and courts. There may be one about custody battles.

Some novels about custody disputes: Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult; True Lies by Margaret Johnson-Hodge; The Good Mother by Sue Miller; Kramer vs. Kramer by Avery Corman.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult also has a big component surrounding court battles within a family.

Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov climaxes in the best courtroom scenes/speeches I've read in fiction, but you have to make it that far first; it's a long book, and the first half consists of a lot of setup for the second.
