In the last two weeks i must have received at least two dozen emails, telling me they will get my book on Oprah, send it to Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, etc. Of course all contingent on my buying author copies.

And last night an email from their marketing department, telling me they were setting up a booksigning at the Newark Public Library and did I want to participate? And if so, how many copies of my book would I be ordering to bring w/me? (They suggested fifteen).

OY. I can't wait until my contract w/them expires next April and I am FREE AGAIN.

Anyone else get similar emails?

Yes, and there's ongoing discussion of them in the NEPAT thread.

The title of the thread is one of them rhetorical questions that answers itself.

Gosh, what did Newark do to deserve that?
