Kansas! Again.
People are bound to see the new price tags at PA, see posts here talking about how overpriced PA books are, and think, "Oh. Old info."

So answer the obvious questions -- does the lower price make PA a better choice now?

Does it indicate a change in the PA business model, where authors are encouraged to buy their own books?

More importantly, for the people with car trunks full of novels, does it make them more likely to sell their books at a profit?

How long are the $4 price tags going to last?

They've run sales like this before. I think it lasted a few weeks, if that.

I'd be incredibly frustrated if I had purchased my own books at the usual prices, and then saw them listed for $4.95.

No matter what PA sets the price of the book, the question of the day is, when will those books be delivered? Four weeks, six, eight, ten, twelve? What condition will they be in when they arrive? There's simply no way of knowing with PA. It's a crap shoot.

Even if the cheaper prices were permanent, it's still clipart covers with unedited text that probably is part of the 90% of stuff that doesn't get published for a reason. Prices aren't the only reason why PA's a bad idea, and changing them doesn't make them any better an option. The only way it would is if along with the cheaper prices PA also came clean about what they really are.

That was my first thought. Especially after the recent push to get folks to buy, buy, buy.
