It only takes a brief look at a writing career to realize that it takes alot of self-discipline to pull it off effectively. I am lacking this skill atm, does anyone have any tips to gaining self-discipline?

Me too. I procrastinated like the dickens, finding all sorts of other things to do because I was afraid that when I sat down to write it would be garbage. An odd thing worked for me. If I write nonfiction articles in the morning, I seem to be jazzed up to write fiction in the afternoon. No procrastinating, no fear. Don't know why it works for me but it does. For a long time, what I thought was a lack of self-discipline, was actually paralyzing fear. What if I'm not good enough? My writing sucks. People will actually see this! Blah blah blah. You know the drill.
