So I'm going to be self publishing my first novel "Wormwood." I'm using one of createspace's packages.
I decided to self publish for a couple of reasons. The biggest is I like the idea of controlling pretty much everything that has to do with my work. I know it won't be an easy road, but i think if I pile the sand high enough some of it won't blow away. I have researched all of the options and I'm even turning down a small small publishing deal or two. I simply can't see what they can offer me that I can't do myself.
I'm trying to build my platform through controlled social media posts and through my website. I hope to have the novel released in two months, sooner if my editor doesn't ask for a ton of revisions.
I'd like to chronicle my journey here as well as through my blog at my website. If anyone has any advice for a first time self publisher I'd be so thankful.
My novel is about a full scale nuclear war and one man's quest to keep his small Connecticut hometown from fading into oblivion.
I wish everyone that is in the same boat I am a whole lot of luck it's an exciting time, but also one that I'm trying to stay grounded about.
Thanks
Micah
