OK... I'm getting ready for a guest spot at a con this weekend.

I've got the box of books to sell, shiny new business cards with my details on them, free glossy postcards advertising my story at Wrongworld, and a box of flyers.

I've got a petty cash "float" to make change from.

I've got a pen, a spare pen, a notebook, a supply of bottled water and my cell phone.

I've got beer money, curry money and book money.

I've got notes to talk from if any of the panels I'm speaking start to run dry.

My laptop will be on standby if internet access is needed.

I've got my camera, with a spare set of batteries.

I've got a black suit, a white shirt, a thin tie, and my Rayban sunglassess.
My shoes are shiny and I'll be wearing clean underwear.

What have I forgot?

Tee shirt... KISS THE GUEST SPEAKER or ASK ME ABOUT MY BOOK

Make sure you know where the nearest exit is, in case of howling mob syndrome.

More money for buying con merchandise, like cool T-shirts and plush Cthulhus?

I've done a lot of cons as vendor, attendee or even guest. Aspirin is a good idea. Depending on the venue, it can be noisy and 10-14 hours of noise wears on you.

Also, take a heavier piece of clothing, like a sweater or a jacket, than you expect to need. Sometimes conventions halls crank up the AC. I've seen one con where the vendors got up and walked outside to the hallway until somebody approached their table because it was so freakin' cold in the room.

If you have all that, I think you're good.
