I got a request for a partial from Andrew Lampack after an equery.

I did a google search and found Peter Lampack (who has been Cussler's agent for about 30 years) but found not much at all on Andrew Lampack, except that he works for the Peter Lampack Agency. He's listed on querytracker, but not on agentquery and not in P&E.

I also searched this board and also found nothing.

Anyone got any history, notes, yea's or nay's?

Just as a data point--the Lampack Agency is currently being sued by the guy who sued Clive Cussler for breach of contract last year and won.

The agent said he sold 100 million copies of the Pitt books. In reality, he sold 40 million copies.

Not that I'm for lying or exaggerating, but... my book hasn't sold 1 copy. I'll take 40 million.

As absurd as the whole thing sounds, the jury in the Cussler suit did find for the plaintiff.

I'd be concerned about the potential impact of the suit on the operations of the agency. A lawsuit is expensive, time consuming, and potentially very destructive. The plaintiff may or may not prevail against Lampack, but I think that I might want put any submissions to these guys on hold till the whole thing was resolved.

I thought the jury found for Cussler in his counter-suit against Crusader, though.

(not that I really care about the squabbles between billionaires)

Peter Lampack Agency

Has anybody queried this agency with fiction? Under submissions, they request a cover letter, author bio, and 1-2 page synopsis. Their home page refers to receiving queries though. Given that they also handle non-fiction, is a query letter plus synopsis acceptable for a novel?
