Salutations! This is my first post to AW. My name is Sarah.

I've done NaNoWriMo 3x now. This is my first year of truly buckling down to edit one of my novels.

I'm looking for someone to swap a chapter with or if someone wants to take on my chapter with nothing to swap, that works too. 'Sacred Cow' is a YA fantasy story revolving around cliches.

NaNoEdMo is sucking the life out of me until 3/31/08. I'm at 32/50 hours and am on chapter two. A nasty bout of the flu has me 'slightly' behind schedule, lol...but I'm making a comeback. I'm comfortable with sharing chapter one with someone, but chapter two is still in shambles (along with 3-26, lol).

I'm hoping that some feedback on the first chapter can give me insight into the editing that I continue to do on future chapters. The few people who have read chapter one just give the standard 'I really like it' and 'I really want to know what happens next' response. It's not the most helpful criticism. I need something more constructive.

Chapter one is around 4,500 words long at this point.

If you're interested, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Welcome to the board, I'm just saying, you might want to post a hello in our Newbie Forum.

If you don't already know, we have a Share Your Work forum (password = vista) which includes a Young Adult sub-forum where you could post material for feedback. There are also genre discussion and research forums if you need any other help or advice. Take a moment to explore the rest of the board, don't just drive by.

Thanks, dpaterso! I didn't know about the forum. :) I've been so busy trying to get my 50 hours of editing in for NaNoEdMo...it's kind of taken over my life, lol. My reward when I finish is actually being able to enjoy surfing the site some more. It was a recent discovery. I appreciate the advice though. I'll check it out. :)
