My dad used to have a business doing this--he's a playwright and his business partner was a director and technical director. They'd hire actors and my dad would write the scripts and his partner would produce and direct them, adapting them to the venue, client, etc.
They wound up discontinuing the business because there were so many pre-scripted setups available for $100 or less. I'm not sure how profitable the business would be today, which is at least 15 years later.

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone. I wonder if it's worth trying to create one? I couldn't figure out if there's some kind of selection process. I imagine there would have to be.
