Has anyone written something that was complete and utter drivel, except for one shining line?

I started this draft a few years ago, and the rest of it was a snore fest, save for one piece of dialogue that is complete brilliance. And I haven't been able to use it anywhere else!

Cheering you all on!
I have a ms that needs a serious rehaul. Someone read it and when they got to my favorite line (near the end), said, "If I'd known that line was coming, I'd have read it faster."

Of course, the line itself makes no sense out of context.

judg is right. use the one line as a jump off point for a new story. Or gut and seriously rewrite if the plot of the old story is reweriting.
