why don't compare how the genre has changed from the 40's to now. you can break sections up first act 40-50s and the movies that were part of the genre, the mickly spalanes. the detective genre. the gangsta
to what film noir represents today, and the splinter faction of momemnto and partially tarrantino etc...
what film noir is the generations it spans, and the cultural and theatrical pulse it has with the generations.
it went from the romantic to the cult. chart the genesis to present day, usual suspects

who shot roger robit (animation noir)
cool world
blood simple
sunset bolevard 70s
grifters 80
body heat
lady from shanghai
touch of evil
the subgenres of noir.

Im writing about the profound impact German Expressionism had on Noir and without it, noir would have never been. Ive got 5 pages and i have nothing else to say

So after writing this thing and learning about expressionism, i think we are heading towards a new wave of expressionism. It probably wont happen until wwIII but a lot of the thoughts and feelings of the artistic and inteligent american public are similar to those of the Germans post WWI. EEEk.
