I'm asking for information from an acquaintance at another site who suffered the ignoble experience of being booted from a screenwriters' group on Yahoo! when she dared to disagree with Mr. Press.
Some people there said my acquaintance had now lost Skip Press' invaluable mentoring, and others said my acquaintance had been freed from petty tyranny of a guy who just wishes he could write a screenplay that actually gets produced.
Rumors apparently say Skip is facing at least one defamation lawsuit and has been removed/banned from the WGA. (Hmm, there's an article by Mr. Press at the WGA site.)
My acquaintance doesn't intend to darken Mr. Press' cyber-door again, but would like to know the truth about the man and his qualifications. Anybody know anything more substantial than a rumor?
(BTW, my blessing if a mod decides to move this to the screenwriters' board--I debated with myself which was the more appropriate place.)
