In my current WIP my hero is a boxer with a lot of tattoos all over his body, mainly his back and shoulders. . . well, I have that he has a tattoo of his wife's lips on the back of his neck, and it stands alone from the others...

Is that corny???

I imagined that's basically what it was, using the right ink it could be tattooed over an actual impression. I find that quite realistic as the toughtest guys will get tattooed with their kids baby photos, mother name etc. They have a sentimenal side too even if it means they can have something needled into their skin that they would never say in words.

A kissy tat in the neck on a boxer would be sexy to the ladies but very visible when he's in his boxers boxing. I'm just saying, in case it might be something he doesn't want the other guys to see.

What I was going for with the kiss tattoo of his wife's lips would be a fairly light pink color directly behind his neck. The top of his spine. The best part you love to grab on a guy when you're ready to kiss him.

Since in my story his wife is dead the tattoo forever engraved on his skin would be a reminder of what they "once" had because it was the very first tattoo he ever got. Now his back and shoulders are practically covered with them but the kiss stands alone among the others. Definitely the most femine one. It's a memory tattoo.

I think it's cool. As has been said, outside the ring, boxers have the same emotions as others and are quite passionate so it wouldn't be corny at all for one to have his dead wife's lips tattooed on.

I wasn't for it at first becuase I thought it was cliche but then I read the above and now I'm all for it. It's very sexy.

I think the tat is a great idea. Just watch the tattoo TV shows and you'll see that anything goes. But the lip tat is both erotic and sentimental.
