I checked the index and did a search and couldn't find any threads about this agency. When I googled it I found out that P&E lists it as: Believed to be a literary agency.

Does anyone know anything more about Jane Starr International Literary Scout? Their VERY basic website is http://www.janestarr.com .

I am guessing that a literary scout reads a lot of books and then tells you what section in the bookstore to hide out in so the bad guys don't get you!

Weird. Where I'm from (California), a literary scout is someone who looks for books that might make good movies. Preferably before publication (ala John Grisham's The Firm).

Literary scouts aren't the same as literary agents.

They work for publishers, usually, looking for books which have been published in other territories which should work well in their home territory.

They don't accept submissions, and are really of very little interest to writers because of the way they work.
