(I just couldn't wait any longer. I am too excited.)

It is my extreme pleasure to announce our newest Poet Laureate.

Congratulations and a Big Thank You to:

NeuroFizz

His unique style and incredible giving spirit encourage all of us to get better and think harder about our craft. This spirit is demonstrated through his thought-provoking work and generous critiques.

His term of office starts on July 1 and extends through the end of August.

I'm looking forward to your term and all you will bring to it, Rich!

Congratulations!

Thank you all so much. I'm overwhelmed at the moment, both with the responsibility and with the responses. I'll try my best to have fun with it.

Shadows are unreliable
when in the presence of those
who stand so close

and so tall

I can only hope I can stuff
enough concise phrases
and perfect imagery
into the toes of the 7 1/2s
and 10s or 11s, or whatever*
so my 12s fit without
banging around

too much

*I'm too bashful to ask william for his shoe size. He could have 13s for all I know. Trish already knows I'm strange...

(first of all, how sweet is that, I wondered why you asked about shoes.)
Second, you'll do just fine. I have no doubt.
Me? I had to stuff two whole Sunday papers in each of my shoes a couple months ago.

To your challenge, deek, I urp up the following, color coded even...

Clurichaun opus
of bothy and mew
‘tis of yon kobold
dictum*

in blue, synonym of tome
in red, primary synonyms of gnome
in orange, secondary synonym of gnome (i.e. proverb)
in green, synonyms of home (both somewhat obscure)
* means one thing, reads like another (heh heh)

And now, I must retire to my bower for the weekend.

Congrats NF! Excellent choice. You are aware that this means you are now in charge of making coffee in the mornings? Yes? Donuts would be nice...:)

Trish, excellent job! Thank you.

Thank you all. I'm honored. I hope I can reach the height of the bar that has been set by the first two laureates.
