Not sure what to do . . .

I have a query out to several agents, plus a requested first two chapters out to another agent. Now, yet another agent has asked for the complete manuscript as a single submission. How do I handle this? Do I wait until I've heard back from the agent who has 2 chapters and the other agents I've queried? Do I explain to the latest agent that I have contacted other agents? Not sure what I should do!

Be honest. Often an agent want an exclusive to the MS and that is why one wants it sent in its entirely. Tell him / her it is a multiple submission UNLESS you want to recall from the other. If it were me, I would see who was most interested in my work and who I connected with mentally and go with that one.
This is a good problem to have--two interested at once!

Has the agent asked for an exclusive? If so, no one else should be reading the full manuscript while this agent is reading it. But it doesn't matter if others are reading partials, and you don't need to let the first agent know about it or your other queries. It's expected that you'll have numerous queries and/or partials out at the same time.

It's unusual for an established agent to ask for the full manuscript right away. Are you sure this agent is reputable?

Thank you for all the input! Victoria, I did google the agency and they come up as "recommended" on P/E. Their website also references a vast # of authors, so I hope I'm on the right track!
