(And my teeth need repair and my gutters are falling down, too).

I was flatlined in my WIP. Dead in the water. The Horse Latitudes. No wind in sight.

And then I went to the dentist.

Wonder whether it has something to do with pain, but I returned, outlined the next few chapters, realized I needed to split one (who wants to read a nearly 30-page chap?), and did an events timeline.

Then I took my own advice (never put off an idea that's burning a hole in your pocket) and spontaneously typed five pages of a comedic sidefic. Still working on that one today, and it looks like it will actually come in at under 20 pages, unlike most of my others.

And I still have a headache. Masaka.
:D

I'm not sure whether to pity you or party with you? :D Good job and I'm sorry.

I see your rejection and crumbly teeth and raise you some envy. Yet another friend of mine has just hit the big-time, this one in the lead of a Hollywood-financed rom-com.

I now have (amongst others who are doing damn well as actors): an ex who is now a major, major comedy star, a friend who is now one of the biggest TV stars in the UK, a friend who has recently sold a TV series, a friend's bf who is one of the next-big-things in music, and now this latest girl.

And here am I. At work on a Friday night.

So I am shaking down my sparkly dress and grabbing a bottle of Frixenet and coming to your pity party with my hair in a braid!

Good. I'll get out the dip. :D

So Wednesday I finished the story, which is 17 pages, first draft. Yesterday and today I keyed in a new one, at 27 pages.

And Monday I go back to the dentist. Kowai.

That's it. We can do pity and party all at once! :D

Ureshiii! I'm at 14 pages and just about done!

:hooray:

(can I stay even though I'm not dejected now? onegai shimasu?)

What's the purpose of posting transliterated Japanese on an English-language board? [JMHO, but it's annoying.]

I'll call and raise you an IRS audit encompassing the last three years, an emotionally imploding husband and three kids home from school.

(Champagne is a nice touch, but not enough to put me in that coma I long for.)

I know how you feel. I don't have an audit, but I do have thousands in debt, I don't have an emotionally imploding husband, but I do have an emotionally imploding me, I don't have 3 kids home from school, but I do have to work with a bunch of kids who annoy the hell out of me!

You are definitely on the guest-list for the pity party, I'd say.

Taihen da!

A whole NEW reason for my pity party: just spent ALL DAY moving furniture around (not to mention puters) and now we have to put it all back the way it originally was.

Some things that look good on paper do not work in real life.

I have just been forced by Boy-Band Colleague to play 'Guess the musical this song comes from'. Worryingly, I won.

And then Friend Who's Just Scored Lead In Hollywood-Financed Rom-Com came into the club, closely followed by Friend Who's Just Sold Series to Channel 4.

And here I am, at work on a Sunday night.

Oh, well, I taped Dr Who last night and will be watching it in the early hours as I cry into my gin.
