ISBN, I think, stands for International Standard Book Number. It is a 10-digit code (presently transferring to a 13-digit code called an ISBN-13) that identifies your book in a manner easy for computers to figure out.
A good forum to ask about this would be the AW Roundtable. It's in the third section down from the top of the forum's main boards.

To save you the time and hair pulling...you can always click on search and type in a keyword. That will narrow it down for you instead of having to go through each sub-forum and go through the pages yourself.
Unless you're self-publishing, leave the ISBN for your publisher to worry about.
