Hello, everyone.
I've been lurking for a little while, and I have to say I'm quite impressed! This site is an amazing repository of writing know-how, and I salute the ability of everyone here to remain civil and respectful, even when dealing with the very personal and intense subject of manuscript writing.
A little about me:
I'm 28, and I've only recently (in the last 3 years) become comfortable enough with my writing to allow others to read it. I submitted my first novel (YA fantasy) to a publisher that didn't accept the genre (I was clueless) and back-burnered the manuscript upon recieving the inevitable rejection. I promptly wrote a second manuscript, which I submitted to the first publisher who seemed likely...turned out to be Windstorm Creative. They accepted it. I then submitted a roleplaying game based on the novel, which also got accepted. Since then, they've accepted two more of my projects, and a very small press requested a short story from me (and accepted the results). I'm now looking for an agent for that first YA novel, and working on two different projects.
My dream right now is to get a great agent, and eventually land a contract with a major publishing house, sell a bunch of copies, and be rich, rich, RICH, MUWHAHAHA! Of course, that's probably the dream of most of the people here...and a lot of you are probably much better than me...but ah, well.
I'm improving all the time, and maybe someday I'll make it!
