I am a 'newbie' in some ways, and not so in others. Briefly, I am a retired attorney (the last of many careers and jobs), a writer for over 50 years (influenced as a child by Bradbury, Heinlein, Hemingway, and Samuel Eliot Morrison), a teacher of writing (a lot of lawyers do not know how to write when they come to law school...I taught them, and it was another form of creative writing), very experienced in the hard side of life, and now writing pretty much full time. I write mysteries, sci fi, poetry, and whatever else strikes my fancy (I have just finished a small book on success in small business). I have a mystery novel (excellent reviews by readers, by the way) that is POD and selling through Amazon (can anyone tell me about Xlibris...seems to me they charge too much for the book and I get too little in royalties). Looking now for writing relationships (bouncing ideas around, etc), an agent and/or a publisher. Hope to hear from y'all soon, and best wishes to you in your writing.

Hola
Welcome to this place. I know I'm still new myself, but I still felt like wishing you a warm hello. It sounds like you've been pretty successful in life, congratulations on all your accomplishments.

And on a random side note, I love Bradbury's writing

dickcabrera,

Yours is a nice little 'get-to-know-you' first post. Congratulations on what sounds like an interesting and fulfilling life. :)

Welcome to AW. You'll find friendly and helpful folks here, and, I'll pass along a warning someone gave me on my first day here: Be careful; you might become addicted to AW. ;)

Sorry, I can't give you any info on Xlibris. Maybe you could check the Bewares and Background Checks Forum and search for it there, or ask about it. Someone will surely be able to help you when they know you're seeking information.

Enjoy your stay.

Welcome.

You might want to check out the Bewares and Background Checks boards for info about Xlibris. Other than that, hang around - and dive in where you want.

:welcome:
