Greetings, cooler-folks! I just stumbled onto your web-site the other day, and took the time
to browze about the place a bit. I must say I'm quite impressed by how sophisticated the
site is (compared to others I've seen). So I registered in the hope that I might actually learn
something useful here. I'm a long time writer, really -- maybe even the best ever, but that's
another (and long) story; --> but you need have no fear of me, for I only write philosophy!

-- but I know nothing about the book publishing business ... Except that several publishers
who ought to have known better rejected the first harry-potter book; which says a lot
about how clued-in publishers are in general. But still, I'm fairly hopeful that my meager
scribblings may one day see the light of day in book form . . . maybe.

btw: can i ask very basic questions about 'copyright' here in the newbie-forum?

Welcome, cybrwurm! Certainly you can ask questions. But you'll probably find nearly everything you need to know about copyright on this handy sticky thread over in our FAQ (frequently asked questions.) In fact, spend about a week in that forum and you might not have any questions left to ask! :ROFL:

When used in a row of emoticons, the whole can be some kind of code, eh?
Anyway, no one even razed me about my claim to greatness, heh. That
may be taking politeness just a tad too far; maybe. But I guess you've seen
dozens of world's-greatest-writer's come and go over the years? Anyway,
wouldn't it be cool if awwc could help me realize my bookish-ambitions?
I would dedicate my first book to the "cooler-crew" ... :)
