What are your favourite movie soundtracks? Now you dont have to have liked the movie, just the soundtrack to it.

A few of my favs are, Gladiator (it has to be really), Last Samurai, Da Vinci code and LOTR.

The Illusionist. Philip Glass's soundtrack blew me away the first time I saw the movie. And the second. And the third. (and etc.)
Sweet November

My all-time favorite is Les Miserables.

300, Gladiator, and Braveheart are good.

I also like the soundtracks from Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek (II and IV specifically)

Don't worry, Jersey Chick...I'm about to be an even bigger dork.

Footloose.

It's also the last soundtrack I've ever bought from a movie...

The main theme for Godard's CONTEMPT by Geoge Delerue is a gorgeous piece of music.

I have that one - on vinyl!!! I think the last sountrack I bought was from Rocky IV (the one where he fights the Russian guy) - also an LP.:e2thud:

I'd have to add Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables as two of my favorites, but these are the original Broadway casts - not film versions. Do those count?

LOTR, Bladerunner, Forrest Gump, The Princess Bride, Shrek, Waking Ned Devine, Local Hero. That's just a few. I love sound tracks.

Vangelis put out a great CD called Vangelis Themes. It includes tracks from Bladerunner, The Bounty and Chariots of Fire, among others.

Star Wars (all the movies), LOTR, original Pirates of the Caribbean (some of the catchiest music themes I've ever heard)

The original King Kong was a very spooky, moody piece. I can hear it in my head now.

Jaws had that flavor, too.

Oh, Close Encounters--like that one. I'll add ET.

Of course anything John Williams or Danny Elfman does just about covers it, wouldn't you think. Edward Scissor(sp?) Hands

Alnost anything by Alexander Korngold - he did several Errol Flynn movies, including The Sea Hawk, Captain Blood and, of course, Robin Hood, which may still have the most complex trumpet solo in film.
