Hi all,
I have to say this looks like a great site, but scared to death that I'm such a new writer that I will look silly on here.
I've recently published a very personal story of my father and I. It was published in our local city paper on Dec. 31, 2006, so you could say I'm still on cloud nine! My family was so excited for me and I also got some great feedback from complete strangers. My story touched a lot of hearts, and that was the best payment I could have recieved. Now I seem to be stuck, I'm writing everyday and really want to be a fiction author but feel that starting out writing for magazines me be the way to go, not sure. I just have no idea how to do a Query letter and how to approach these people. I have no problem with rejection letters, that is a fact of being a writer. I just need to get that first one out there. I've been researching like crazy and learning all the freelancing terms. I even have the 07 writers market.
I'm a mother of three wonderful children, I've been married for 16 years
. I've always loved to write, I'm also an avid reader and love to research new subjects. I'm now at the point where I can devote more time into the writing craft and hope to have an exciting writing career.
I can't wait to review this forum, I feel I will learn so much.

Have you considered writing for the 'Chicken Soup for the Soul?' market?
