Catchy filmmaker names

Hello, I've been thinking...I will make a movie in several years, but my name is so unoriginal and forgettable! The most famous filmmakers have the coolest names: Quentin Tarantino, Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Dario Argento, etc. Like, nobody else has those names. Then you get a name like mine (e.g., Mike MacDonald; not my real) and somebody searches you on IMDb, and there are like 40 Mike MacDonalds! If you were me, would you invent a new name or add your middle name? I can't imagine inventing a new name, it would be so distant. And adding a middle name would make it too long. Any thoughts?

I'm sure that when they were young people didn't think that! Once you become famous, any unique name will become cool...

If some of those famous directors weren't famous, they would be Steve Speilberg hanging out at the deli, Marty Scorsese sitting in the corner booth at a joint in Little Italy and Dar Argento... doing... whatever a guy named Dar would do.

Are Chris Nolan, Pete Jackson and Barry Levinson any more catchy names than Mike McDonald?

I'd go with the name Alan Smithee. It SOUNDS a little boring, but if you use that name, people in the industry will definetly remember you for using that name. You can thank me when you pick up your Oscar.

I share a last name with a successful horror screenwriter & the worlds most well known game show host. You figure it out.
