Great idea - your book idea sounds brilliant

Hello!
My friend and I are Co-Princesses of "PMS Princess" (
www.pmsprincess.com) and we were thinking about writing a book with the same title. It would be crazy things women have done in life and blamed it on PMSing.
1) What do you think about the idea?
2) Any suggestions for the direction?
3) Does anyone have any stories?
I hope I did this right - I am new to the forum.
Thanks, Kelly
Hi Kelly
What a brilliant idea for a book. Thank heavens that at 57 I'm well and truly over PMS. I don't want to remember anything about the crazy things that I did when under the influence. I've blanked them all out, too embarrassing.
Some ideas:
* The subject obviously matters to you, so make a list of everything you've done "under the influence";
* Pick two anecdotes, and spice them up;
* Interview a physician who specializes in PMS;
* Interview a psychiatrist;
* Collect PMS stories (as you're doing).
Within a month or two, you'll have enough to write a book proposal.
Post the proposal on your site - for that matter, start a blog and post the material on your site as you collect it. If you do this, you may not have to sell your book, you may find editors and agents coming to you.
I wish you all success with it. Very good idea.
Cheers
Angela
P.S. Head over to Amazon.com and do some market research on what PMS books are available. Check out their ranks. I noticed that "The Hormonally Vulnerable Woman: Relief at last for PMS, mood swings, fatigue, hair loss, adult acne, unwanted hair, female pain, migraine, weight gain, ... all the problems of perimenopause (Hardcover)" is ranked at #13,343 so that shows that there's a market.
