Hi all:

I've been lurking all week, but this is my first posted message. I'm sorry if this isn't the place to introduce myself, but I'm so excited about an active YA board. I've been writing for the younger YA crowd (8th gradish) but I just started a new novel for a slightly older age group. I have lots to do and lots to learn, and it can be difficult to find groups and classes specifically tuned to this market. This will be great!

hi kate and welcome! i'm also a new member who writes juvenile (age 9-12) and YA fiction... though i'm currently working on a rewrite of a book for slightly younger kids. i agree, it's hard to find workshops on writing for this age-- around here, they mostly are geared to adult fiction or picture books with not much in between!

looking forward to hearing more about your work in progess.

YAY welcome to AW and ask anything...

I write YA for the older crowd, currently working on a novel for older teens and early 20's.
