i.e., to show possession, you'd say "The Might Sullivan's car died at the end of the race." OR, if you were just saying the name, like "The Mighty Sullivans live here," there is no need for an apostrophe.

Right. Use the apostrophe to show possession of something.
If it's a group of Sullivans, then "Mighty Sullivans" is fine to describe the clan.
If they all owned something together, then it would be "the Mighty Sullivans' house" or whatever.
