So I finished my script . . . what now?

RunsWithScissors

I've finally finished my script, after years of working on it.

What comes now? Who do I approach?

How do I . . . break in to the industry?

Who's got some advice for me?

Then start on your next one, then start editing the first, then complete the second, then start on the third, then start editing the second, get it until you have a good groove for script writing, then start pitching it. You can get producers from CS Weekly, and you can buy a directory, it's really up to you, or you could try submitting to agents.

Be sure you know how to write good ones of the following:

Logline, synopsis, hook, tagline, treatment, and query letter.

Good luck, and now the hard work begins. ;)

I listed my script with Ink Tips and have been getting a lot of hits on my logline and a few on my synopsis. I also had a producer contact me through them for me to send my whole script to them. After four weeks they told me my script was very good, but they decided on another one. They said it was between mine and that one. I was happy with the out come even though they didn't go with mine. At least it was considered. I'm working on another one also.
You might want to register your script with the Writers Guild of America. WGA west. I did.

Register your script before you send it to ANYONE. Protect yourself. Then do all the other things everyone else said, and bonne chance!
