First Time Romance Novelist

if i remember correctly, isn't romance just about the top selling genre?

all i know, is that supernatural romance is on the rise. that's about all i know for sure.

Romance of every stripe continues to sell briskly. That's what I hear, anyway. I've also heard scary statistics about the high percentage of all books sold being romance novels.

Romance is one genre where you stand a decent chance without an agent. If you haven't been to the eHarlequin website, you should go there and look around. Tons of information about writing, romance novel types, etc.

I don't want to immediately jump in and sound picky (and can someone who knows more than me just check in) but if you put more than 10% (is that the magic figure?) of your novel on line, I think some (most?) publishing houses won't have a bar of it. You might want to only share your novel in the password protected Share Your Work section for critique. Can anyone jump in whether this is a real worry or my paranoia's showing?
