I have another agent interested in an exclusive for the first three chapters and PoisonPenPress interested as well. PPP is a 6-9 mos. exclusive.

I don't know what to do. I'm still reeling from Folio's rejection.

My goodness...a 9-month exclusive? PERSONALLY, I wouldn't submit to PPP unless everyone else says no. Nine months is a long dadgum time.

I wouldn't give anyone a six to nine month exclusive. If you want to submit to them, I'd send a letter saying, "Thanks for your interest in the enclosed manuscript. I am able to offer you a ____-day exclusive (say 30 to 60, max)."

I agree with the others. That's an absurd amount of time for an exclusive and totally unrealistic. I wouldn't give them more than 30 days and if they aren't willing to flex to that, don't submit to them until you've exhausted all the other possibilities.

Thanks, PPP is a publisher and they have a whole routine for submissions that they claim could take up to 6-9 months. I agree that's a long time.
