Banning anything on that list is absurd.
In terms of high school 'required reading' I might could maybe understand Beloved. It's violent and sexually graphic enough to turn anyone's stomach and I'm not sure young people, or readers of any age for that matter, need to be introduced to that let; alone Morrison's harder-than-need-be-to-read prose.
Great character though and a phenomenal ghost story for those who are up to it.
I'm surprised to not see Lolita on this list.

Lolita was, and I'm sure still is, banned from many school libraries. Lolita is a good example of how ludicrous the whole idea of book banning has been.
