Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to post this, I didn't see anywhere better. :D Can anyone recommend a smooth whiskey or liquor that I can take a shot or two of while I'm surfing the web at night?

Don't want to get falling over drunk, but leaning sideways buzzed would be nice. ;) I'm not an expert on alcohol, but I've drunk my fair share.

Any takers?

Glenfiddich, or if you want something domestic, Maker's Mark is good. Crown is smooth as well.

I'll confess to having no appreciation for Scotch whatsoever, just give me Irish whiskey or Kentucky bourbon.

Southern Comfort is awesome. But I don't drink anymore, so... Apple juice!

The active ingredient is apple juice, so you know you're in for a wild ride.

LOL, well good for you Cliff! I only drink about once or twice a year, but I'm thinking about seriously ramping that up. :D

Oh! I spent Christmas with the friends I dog and horse sit for and they had a huge bottle of Fireball Whiskey.

That stuff is . . . well, we finished the bottle that night. :D It's also smooth.

Is that why we didn't see you until February? :D

Not a whisk(e)y drinker myself -- although I am partial to cooking with JD. However, FIL is a whiskey drinker and Irish to boot :D he swears the best is Black Bush.

OMG, I laughed so hard when I read this. Immature I know...but some things just hit you that way. LOL I personally think Red Bush is the best. :D

Thanks for your post though, JustKia. :) And thanks for making me laugh. I needed a good laugh.

LOL! I'm redheaded, of mostly Irish (coastal counties mostly, so there's bound to be some Norse in the mix) ancestry. Surely you don't think a little whiskey is going to have any lingering effects? ;)

What a coincidence! I only drink about once or twice a week, but I'm thinking about seriously ramping that up.

Yummy. ^

A nip of moonshine will do ya. Old Smokey is quite nice.

Oh, I live in moonshine country, lol. Not too far from where Popcorn Sutton used to brew ;) Best moonshine I ever tasted was one an old man made from blackberries.

The Old Smokey distillery is about 30 minutes from me, depending on tourist traffic.

I'm a redhead too. Mostly Scots ancestry.

And no, a little whiskey shouldn't have any lingering effects.

Unless it's a really good scotch. :D

I don't drink much, but when I do, it's a pint of chrad or a bottle of St. Ambroise. Dark ales are good. Easy on the hops.

It's a high grav brew. I don't know how that works there, but here, high gravs are only sold in liquor stores. But it may not be distributed up there. Stone Brewery is CA.

The labels alone are worth the price of the bottle though, lol! http://www.arrogantbastard.com/doublebastard/default.asp

And the stuff is GOOD.
