I have never done this before, so I apologize if I am using the terminology wrong or doing this all wrong. I think I am looking for a writing buddy? I am currently writing a "older" young adult fiction (New Adult, I guess?). All of my main characters are between the ages of 17 and 23. This is a dark paranormal story set in La Belle Epoque era in Paris, France. It revolves around angels, demons, exorcisms, and dark magic. The story is divided primarily three main characters' point of views whose lives intertwine dramatically.
An American girl who is a member of an exclusive exorcism order of the Catholic Church that uses the unorthodox methods. An English boy (with an extraordinary gift he believes is a curse) visits the City of Lights in search of his missing father who also works in said exorcism order. A demon prince who is in search a powerful rogue demon once imprisoned by his family. This rogue demon is the key to intertwining all three characters together.
I wrote a few chapters of the story, but had a few shiny new ideas and tried to revise it. However, it turned out to be a jumbled mess. Now I am starting from scratch again, trying to redo the plot completely so it makes sense. I am looking for a someone who I can bounce ideas off of and slap my hand when I reach for a new shiny idea. I will gladly do the same in return. It would be nice to talk with a fellow author about all the glorious things writers endure.
