What do you want for Valentine's Day?

I do like spiders and snakes but that ain't what it takes to love me like I want to be loved by you.

I don't care for material gifts. No jewelry, no candy, nor flowers or wine. None of that stuff will do me just fine.

What I desire comes straight from the heart. A bit of your time and effort to start. Then hold me and love me long into the dark.

For these are the things that matter the most. True gifts exchanged from host to host.

I am not trying to be poetic. I'm just having chunks of thought about Valentine's Day.

Considering that I seldom get what I really want, I'd gladly accept a love letter :LilLove:

I told my Husband that I don't want anything. I'm tired of being dictated to by retailers shouting out that you have to prove your love by purchasing something expensive.

My Husband knows I love him every morning when I get up at 3:45 a.m, fix his coffee, and blow him a kiss as he pulls out of the driveway.

I know he loves me when he calls me when he gets to work so he can let me know he got there OK. And at noon where he uses his lunch time to talk to me.

We do the same thing every year that we started when we were young and poor and desperately in love--exchanging cards, either home-made or store-bought. I suppose we won't eat in front of the TV that evening, a habit we've gotten into since the kids left home, Mr. Maryn works late more often, and misses the news a lot.

I mean, the guy proves he loves me every single day (although some days, I can't imagine why, you know?). He doesn't have to buy anything, just show up.
