What poem would you say affected you the most profoundly and why?

Mending Wall by Frost - because it says it is okay to want to be isolated and acknowledges that walls can lead to healing. This helped me to think about when and whether to tear some down.

On His Blindness - John Milton

When I have Fears - John Keats

and getting away from the Johns,

Dover Beach - Matthew Arnold

The first two both speak to and break my heart, as an artist, a person of faith, and hell, just as a human being.

The last one by Matthew Arnold dazzled and amazed me with it's beauty when I was just fourteen. God, the early stanza's description of the beach, the cliffs, the waves, the night - I know the poem by heart, even today.
