I saw a similar post on the YA board and thought it would be really fun to do here on the SFF board. If this is successful, maybe we can do one for our villains too, like they did on the YA board.

Here's how it works. I'll post the first question. The next person answers the question and posts a new question.

Electronic! And bits of other genres. He loves music (usually has his big headphones around his neck -- except when he's out slaying things with too many teeth) but I can't imagine him listening to much else.

She's either on an assignment and tracking her mark, or she's posing as a buyer for the merchant guild. This would have to be a fantasy version of a shopping mall...so like an outdoor market.

He would bring his closest friend, with whom he's grown up in the forest. Or at least that's what he'd do at the start of the story. By the end, he'd probably bring the FMC.

He would most likely complain and make rude gestures before eventually doing the task if it was a female, if it was a male he'd most likely spit in his face and make even more rude gestures followed by a very vulgar insult about the villains mother.

The moon is 384,400 km away with a mass of 7.35x10^22 kg, and with an orbital period of 27 days. Ascertaining its position can be useful for calculating tidal forces -- y'know, if that happens to be necessary to kick someone's ass in a Jetski chase.

The stars have both apparent and absolute magnitudes (obvious but useless), and azimuth/altitude gives equatorial coordinates in a snap, but really, who cares? They're pointless except for navigation.*

* In the current draft, my MC actually thinks exactly this (different wording) about the stars in Chapter 1. Hee.

Marie - Sacrifice "core beleifs and motives". As a relentless truth seeker, she firmly beleives that only the truth matters. She faces a moment in the book where she is forced to abandon her perception of God in order to face the truth. She will build her new perception of her faith upon this truth.

Luther - Recite a novel/mandolin/stall for time. He cannot really strip naked, being a sort of golem. He knows that without proper mantenance, he would stop functioning, thus ending any harm he could possibly do within 24 hours.

Diandre - Side with the enemy. She has too many things she cares about, that an enemy could easily subvert her by convincing her that her brother/family will be harmed if she does not. Treason doesn't come easy for her, but my outline does have her spend a serious amount of time considering it...

Next question! What would your character do with his/her life if the plot never happened?
