Who is going where?

I'll be at the RT con in Kansas City for certain. RWA is still a possibility but a lot of others depend on my finances. How about the rest of you?

Nope and nope.

I'd love to go to both, but I can't afford it, and RT would be out of the question anyway because I teach at a comm college, and that's the last week of the semester. Worst possible time to be away.

What's frustrating is my debut historical romance (see my avatar) will be released on May 2nd, right in the middle of the RT Convention. How cool would it have been for me to be able to celebrate release day at RT?

I'm looking forward to stories from people who go this year!

On a beach, of course.
*Le sigh*

I would love to go to a conference, but since I'm starting a new job next week and won't have vacation time for awhile, I can't. I'll just have to live vicariously through those of you who can attend.

I just attended EPICON in Vancouver, Wa - it was FABULOUS! The only reason I was able to attend is it was close. I few up....on a Cessna! I knew the plane would be small, but...

Anyhow, lots of romance publishers and authors there. I wish I could go next year but it's in San Antonio and I don't think I'll be able to afford it.

I'm registered for the RWA national conference. Might have to sell some plasma to finance my hotel room. :-|

I'll be at RT, AAD, and Romanticon. :)

For anyone going to AAD- I'm hosting a bad ass BDSM Bingo party that you are NOT going to want to miss. All of the author's involved are doing gift baskets packed with hand made toys of a high enough quality to please anyone experienced in the lifestyle and safe enough that newbies can have fun with it. Like, for example, I have a rabbit fur flogger as one of the toys in my basket, along with a suede flogger and a little write up on where to go to learn about how to use them and safety advice.

Piggybacking on that, I've found that AAD(author's after dark) is by far the most erotica friendly of the conferences I've been to, and a place where I got the most face time with readers.

I will be at RT (it's in my hometown!) and I literally know no one else who is going, so if anyone is interested in saying "hi" at some point, just let me know!

I'll be there and would love to say hi! :hi:

A question for our regular Romance room peeps (there's a reason...) Is there anyone else who would LOVE to go, and is available to go, but just can't afford it?

I've found that a good black marker works wonders. The name badges at RT have the person's first name in bold 20pt. print, with the first and last name in 15-16pt. font right below. There's plenty of space to put usernames below on the same page. I've also typed a label before with the usernames for the various sites I was on and stuck it to the bottom of the badge. Just make sure it's large enough to see from a distance. Think 18 pt. font. :)

I hand write my username on there too, but sometimes it's hard to see unless I'm already having a conversation with someone. Some sort of "HEY! I'M AN AW MEMBER!" button or pin or something would be cool so we could pick each other out of a crowd.

I'm going to the Pikes Peak Writers Conference this weekend. We leave Thursday. I'm getting nervous.

So glad to see so many AW members will be at RT. I'll definitely write my username on my name tag or wear a button, or a yellow rose, or whatever so that we will know each other on sight!

That's good to know. I carry around a Sharpie so I'll have to remember this.

I'll be at Authors After Dark. Got some local signings, but no other cons scheduled for this year. Stupid old car breaking down, stupid new car payments... *grumble*
