Any help to locate a researcher will be appreciated. If you had a personal experience with one, or know someone who had a good experience with one, that would be helpful.

The research is just "background" information --- nothing technical or requiring expertise in any particular field. Book topic covers 20th century American history.

This is not a large project --- just some isolated events requiring some research.

What payment did you have in mind? I only really know science checkers but I know they aren't cheap....

The one I used a few years ago charged $20 per hour.

Outside of that, no preconceived notions.

You might try a local university with a history department, asking the profs if they can recommend any of their brighter students in search of some cash.
