Greetings and bienvenidos

Found myself at a bit of an impasse the other day and was going through various writing sties, forums, and message boards when I stumbled across this one. After reading enough posts, I figured I'd like to join up as well.
I'm a 32 year old English teacher in deep south Texas, a part time musician, and a hopefully aspiring writer. I've tried several times in the past and kept discouraging myself. This time, I aim to actually get something accompished.
I'm not new to message boards, but I am new to this one and glad for it. I hope to offer any tidbits of advice where I can (I don't claim to be an expert or anything) and receive help where it's available. See you on the boards.

Welcome
If you start to discourage yourself, I will figuratively drive the several hours from DFW to South Texas and kick your butt into gear.

True story, but I readily admit this to my kiddos on a regular basis. I'm not the king of grammar and I frequently let them know that. That being said, I'd be thrilled if they came across this message board...that would mean that they cared about their writing...something I don't see a whole lot of.

Don't be discouraged. Writing is so rewarding but SO tough at the same time. It's lovely that you have other talents and passion like music.
