Thanks for all the warm greetings, everyone!

Eric: Whatever one is called who writes but isn't yet published, that's me.

Only this year did I get serious about getting published. Thus far, I have accomplished two goals: 1) finish at least one work; 2) get at least one work critiqued.

I'm now close to a third goal for this year: putting the final touches on a work that current publishing wisdom states will (almost) guarantee a rejection. And I understand why, however....

While generally in constant doubt, I believe in this piece and keep going back to it--tweaking it, loving it, and embracing it.

Even if no agent wants to touch it, I've gotten a lot out of it. I loved writing it and learned much in the process.

You're a little twisted and a bit more than edgy. Man, am I at home or what?

A couple of you have referenced the title of my post, and although I didn't realize it at the time, my subconscious was coming through. I am getting over a very harsh critique and the experience has made me...um...fragile and...uh...unstable...and eh....
