Hello All!

I'm relatively new here, and have just recently got around to writing something small of an introduction post! I must admit that I have not been shadowing this website for very long, however, I have in the past week perused the catacombs, turning up gobs and gobs of great content and great writers. I am excited to be an active member!

For the past two years, I have been working as a freelance copyeditor (not much of a writer, as my creative ability doesn't run much past the starting gun), and have been increasingly branching out into online platforms. I want to allay any fears right now: I am not advertising my services for pay here. I promise this wholeheartedly! I have worked for various imprints and publishing houses around the world, in addition to one or two magazines and an academic journal.

Before I jumped off into the editing world, I earned a BA in Philosophy/German Literature, with a minor in Political Science, and wandered Europe like all those 50s beatniks looking to find themselves. While not exactly living in the Tropic of Cancer, and indeed losing myself more than finding, I have yearned to go back for some time.

For those speakers on the forum as well, ich kann kleines Deutsch sprechen, vieles verstehen, und keines redakteuren. Meistens vermeide ich diese Berufstatigkeit, weil sie nur fuer echten, fliessigsprechenden Deutschen geeignet ist.

My name is unusual (Javery), but I assure you my talents and contributions are not. I hope to make a positive difference for those looking for help (I am available to look over chapters, essays, various nonfiction, feuilletons, etc., with no charge), and more importantly, wish to contribute greatly to this forum's success!

Any questions, feel free to ask! Looking for help? Ask!

Thank you all for reading.

Well welcome Javery!

Even as a new member you can hop over to SYW (Share Your Work) and offer critiques and comments on snippets of other people's work (Password: vista)

There's a lot you can be involved in, play with, explore. Have fun and hope to see you around the threads.

Willkommen. Ich spreche ein wenig Deutsch zu. But just a bit.

You might be interested in the SYW section. It's not a editing service, but people post their work and others offer help with their writing.
