Anyone remember how much a game of pinball was in 1975? A nickel?

A bottle of coke?

I wasn't doing a lot of shopping back then but I seem to remember that you could easily get a six pack of Coke for under a dollar. So...probably a quarter for a single can out of a machine? Pinball I think was a quarter already by then.

aha, yes, some links to pix: http://www.pinrepair.com/gtb/topcard.htm

So you'll get really authentic. :)

my first job was about then, btw, and I made $1.30/hour. FYI. But that varied by state. Still, it gives you an idea of what a quarter meant

Thanks you Lorna! Greatly appreciated.

And thanks for digging up the machine! I did go down that path but could not find a pic showing the coin slot in details. I did however settle on the Delta Queen as the game of choice. :)

A mass-market paperback was $1.75. A movie admission, IIRC, was about $3. Comic books cost 25 cents. MAD Magazine cost 50 cents. I didn't like soda, but 25 cents sounds about right for a can in 1975.

Lord. I sound like Harlan Ellison moaning about 1940s kids stuff in "Jefty is Five."
