I'm looking for more of these.

My preferred category is literary fiction, and I'm very familiar with some prominent literary first-person presenters--Atwood, Mitchell, Ellis, Palahniuk, Murakami, etc.--but genre recommendations are fine too.

Every thread about first person present I've read, on this forum and others (but mostly on others), always devolves into people listing a litany of reasons they don't read it. Can we please not let that happen here? Thank you. :)

Carolyn Crane's Disillusionist Trilogy
^ actually read that one.

The Women of the Otherword series by ... Kelly Armstrong, I believe.
^ haven't read those, but have heard good reviews.

Oh, and Room, by Emma Donoghue.

One of the best books written in the last decade. It's written from the point of view of a five year-old, and nails the voice perfectly.

Water for Elephants (Sarah Gruen) - I bet you've heard of this one...
Come, Thou Tortoise (Jessican Grant) - Love this. It's hilarious. but note that the author doesn't use quotation marks, if that sort of thing bugs you.

This is quite common in chick lit, such as:
The Undomestic Goddess (Sophie Kinsella)
A Total Waste of Make-up (Kim Gruenenfelder)
Time of my Life (Allison Winn Scotch)
Something Borrowed (Emily Giffin)
(If you want more chick lit suggestions, I can easily come up with more. Probably about half the chick lit novels on my shelf are first person, present tense. But these are some of the better ones.)

Romance:
Just One of the Guys (Kristan Higgins)
(I think all of her earlier books are first person, present tense)

YA:
Invincible Summer (Hannah Moskowitz)
I know this is rather common in YA, but I read very little YA, so I don't have any other ideas.

EDIT: Oh, I thought of another.
A Jest of God (Margarent Laurence)

Sorry, most of what I read tends to be either third person (both present and past) or first person past. (I tend to prefer third person in general. Just personal preference.) I could probably recommend first person past if you're interested.

You've listed Atwood, so I'll assume you've read The Handmaid's Tale!

out in the bush
- A Friend of the Earth by TC Boyle
- Paula by Isalbel Allende
- The Piano Man's Daughter by Timothy Findley
- The Stone Angel by Margaret Laurence

Some of these involve other POVs in past tense and sections of backflash in past tense, though.

I have a novel coming out later on this year done in first person present. I really wanted it to be in past tense, but had no control over the process, something which I bitterly regret.

Live and learn, and while it can work, I prefer it done in simple past. It just plays better this way, IMHO.
