Alphasmart Neo2 / A good investment?

Has anyone used one of these contraptions for writing?
The company also puts out Danas, which are double the price.

They seem like they have more than I need. The Neo would do fine. All I want to be able to do is write on-the-go and also to take notes for any projects I might be working on at the time.

I have an earlier model, the Alphasmart 3000, and I love it. It's so much easier than carrying around a pen and paper, or writing on my phone and emailing it to myself. It's been a lifesaver when I'm doing NaNo, or just wanting to get more writing in. Since I don't drive, I type away when I'm sitting on the bus, and then I get more writing done during my lunch break.

I love how I can write 1,000+ words while I'm out and about and not have to retype them at home - it saves a huge amount of time. I would definitely recommend getting one if you're either out and about and want to get more writing done, or you need distraction-free writing.

Don't forget eBay. I bought a very nearly new Dana from eBay for about £30, last year. It runs perfectly, and is very useful.

My Neo is THE best investment I've ever made in my writing. My productivity shot up after I purchased it, and I made back my investment within two months (I sold a short story that more than covered the cost). I carry it with me everywhere.

Yes, I'm a total Alphasmart fangirl. I can't say enough good things about it.

... thanks for the feedback! Will probably go ahead and make the purchase. Sounds like a cool device. I did briefly check Ebay for the Neo, but not for Dana. It was the same price, but included free shipping. That was for a new one. There wasn't a return policy though. The site has a 30-day one. So I'll probably go with that.

They are definitely worth the investment. I've had one for several years now and they're great for that first draft and editing.
