The stress! The worry! The constantly checking sales figures and trying to find ways to market and promote my books. It's too much! :Soapbox:

I'm going back to my day job. I'll forget about writing forever.

April Fools! :D ;)

Good grief, Merri, for a moment there I thought you meant it. Good one!

My heart sank. I want you to succeed. Glad it's an April Fool's Joke.

Whew! Here I was drafting in my head by condolences and "here, let me give you a hug" speech. Glad you're still in the hunt!

And here I was getting ready to draft a warm post of support to remind you of the success you have already achieved, maybe you just need a little break to work in the garden and avoid the marketing for a few weeks, just let the books track along and...oh, wait, that was for my sanity.

Thanks for a good chuckle, Merrihiatt.

Thanks for the perfect April Fool's joke.

Is this the only April Fool's thread on AW this year? It's quiet around here.

Think we're all reeling from this one and the avatar theft. We're too stunned .

Well there was a major one about AW switching to a tiered membership system. Nothing as awesome as last year's steampunk forum though.

I had actually forgotten it was April 1st until a friend gave me an early April Fool's Day prank.

I would have held out on telling the truth until mid-day, but that just seemed mean. I didn't want anyone spending time and energy on a real response when it couldn't be further from the truth.

Even if I did get a day job again, I'd still continue self-publishing. I'm enjoying it immensely.
