I am a newbie to the site and hope that I will be welcome even if I do love my orange juice! I also like my Guinness, so I suppose that and being part Irish will get me by. I am past half way through my first novel manuscript and hope to have it published within the next six months. I found this site because I saw a question from the blog asking about Post Mortem Press. I was hoping to answer the question about the company but had to join to do so. I certainly do not mind joining my fellow writers and look forward to making new acquaintances here.

Behind you!
A pleasure to meet you, Ladygrace. If you'll check out our Bewares and Background Checks board, you may even find a thread (oops, I typed 'threat"!) about Post Mortem. If not, of course you can ask whatever it is you want to know. It will help if you provide a link to their website, assuming they have one.

Meanwhile, it's full-dark here, and that's all I require for a Guinness.

Maryn, raising her glass in welcome

Welcome! If you don't have a local writers' group for read & critique or beta readers, there's a section here for "Share Your Work" which I've found to be incredibly useful. Even though I'm also in a writers' group. :)

Welcome aboard! I also love orange juice and am part Irish, so you won't get any weird looks from me. Not about those things, anyway!

A Hale and Hearty Greeting!

I am a newbie to the site and hope that I will be welcome even if I do love my orange juice! . . . I found this site because I saw a question from the blog asking about Post Mortem Press. I was hoping to answer the question about the company but had to join to do so. I certainly do not mind joining my fellow writers and look forward to making new acquaintances here.

You are most welcome here. I'm a relative newcomer myself. I hope you find the resources valuable--both forums and the writers who inhabit them. Read the informational material, greet other newbies, and take a look at some work offered by members for critique.

After you have shown some involvement and have offered some help to others--and have acquired a minimum of 50 posts--then you can consider submitting your own work, whether a chapter of a novel, a query letter, a poem, or other. I heartily endorse what Mark G wrote above.

May you find AW forums and discussions as profitable as other writers find your participation. It's all about writers helping writers.

Regards,

Lynn Wallace

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Take some time and read the Newbie Guide and the Stickies found
at the top of Forum pages. They are your best guide to learning about
Absolute Write.

Don’t forget to read the FAQ regarding posting pictures at AW.

Members who want to start a thread in Share Your Work to have work critiqued need
50 posts. Don’t make a mad dash to reach your 50 posts. Take some time to greet fellow newbies,
critique other members’ works, or join a discussion.
